Stormfall: Age of War Guide – Units

Your Units can be either Offensive or Defensive. To see detailed stats on a Unit’s effectiveness against a specific category of opponent, click on its icon before purchasing it. A Red border indicates an Offensive Unit, a Green border indicates a Defensive Unit. Defensive Units are at a disadvantage when attacking, but are highly effective at protecting a Castle or Town. Conversely, Offensive units are heavily weighted towards offensive maneuvers. but have a low defense value. A good tactic is to develop dedicated forces of either Offensive or Defensive Units tasked with taking or holding Castles. respectively.

Difference Between Regular and Imperial Units

There are two variants of every Unit in the game – Regular and imperial. Regular Units are purchased with Gold, Iron and Food. Imperial Units are purchased with Sapphires and cost significantly less Resources. Regular and Imperial Units are otherwise identical in performance and stats.

You may also add Castle Guardians to your Castle’s Defense. Guardians are special improvement Items that act as permanent defensive Units stationed within your Castle grounds. These may only be stationed inside your Castle, and may be resurrected or repaired for free after each enemy attack.

In addition to Guardians, you will eventually be able to acquire Legendary Units. These Units receive powerful attributes and bonuses when sent into battle with supporting Units of the same type (infantry, Cavalry, Occult Units, and Bestiary Units).

Types of Units

Your armies are divided into four different branches: Infantry. Cavalry. Occult Units, and Bestiary Units. Each one of these branches field 4 different Units – 2 Offensive and 2 Defensive.

Each of these Units have their own particular balance of effectiveness against the Offensive or Defensive Units of each branch. Click the question mark or directly on the image of the Unit to find out detailed information about its strengths and weakness.

Units Statistics

Each military Unit has the following stats:

  • Unit Type: to which class a Unit belongs (infantry. Cavalry.

Using Your Units

All combat Units are produced by specific Military buildings. Discover new Lost Arts to unlock new buildings and Units. The higher the mastery Level of a Lost Art, the stronger the Unit it unlocks will be during an engagement.

Your Units can be used for different purposes:

Wraiths

Wraiths are multi-purpose undead Infantry Units. They are equally well-suited for both Offensive and Defensive roles. do not consume Food for their maintenance and can carry a large load of Resources during Raids. If a Wraith is defeated. you can revive it as soon as you have new Souls at your Crypt. You can create up to 3 new Wraiths a day. Each of your Friends can create an additional Wraith for you once a day by clicking your Crypt. You can maintain up to 50 Wraiths simultaneously. One Soul is need to summon each Wraith. Every day the vessel of Souls at your Crypt is automatically replenish with enough to summon your daily max. of Wraiths.

When sent to a Castle as Reinforcements, no more than 2000 Wraiths will fight for its defense. Wraith losses in a defensive battle will be spread proportionally across the total number of Wraith detachments reinforcing the Castle.

  1. I have read all your webs on defense and no where does it say how your castle defense adds to your units, does it add to their individual stats, or does it reduce the enemies stat value?

    • Same issue, what is a castle defense bonus used for? It it just adds to the defense total then its a very expensive way to add defense. If it modifies each unit’s defense then it would be much more useful.

    • haha i know you

    • To be honest, i was wondering the same thing…

    • It adds to the total defense

Troop defense total + castle defense total
doesn’t work if no troops are defending

  2. The damage each unit inflicts can be seen in the stats, however, each units hit point (HP) is not stated. I know how much damage is dealt but I do not know how much damage each unit can take before they die. Would appreciate if someone could revert to me regarding this.

    • I dont knok but I guss regular unints have 1 in heath. I am guessing (very simplyfied) that it works like this. U attack with a unint that has 100 attack rating and one defens with at unit that has 200 defence rating. The attacking unit will die bekause of the lower rating. I also think that it is som sort of variable that can change the ratings… call it luck… so that a 100 rating could become between 80-120 if lucky/unlucky.

As I said.. I dont know it worls like this byut many similar games do.

  3. I have a question about caravans. I have maxed out my Market level to 20, and have 20 caravans. However, I keep seeing trade offerings requiring many more caravans. How do I acquire more? I have not seen this covered anywhere in the game, or on forums.

    • Upgrade your thieve’s guild.

  4. Looking for a wiki guide or information detailing how legendary units work at a beacon.

Specifically do you have to send in a specific format:
select the legendary unit then all the units that give it bonus
    OR
can you just send / click on in any order

do you have to send only the legendary unit and it’s bonus giving units
    OR
is it ok to send legendary unit and it’s supporting bonus units and all other non supporting units in same batch

as a whole for the beacon, do incoming legendary units work the same at the beacon as they do at a castle
    example:
at castle if u have legendary unit and some one sends you reinforcement troops they will not work with the legendary unit at your castle
    so
wondering if legendary units at beacon works individually with only the units of the owner that sent the legendary unit or do all legendary units work collectively / interactively w/all supporting units at the beacon

a wiki guide for this information would be preferred vs your opinion as opinions are what are differing in my Stormfall league

  5. Do your fallen units revive by themselves or do you lose them if you don’t revive them with sapphires?
